Meditation has been practiced by many cultures all over the world and is supported in the medical literature to improve menopausal symptoms. Even in small doses, meditation changes brain waves, improves physiological (e.g., vasomotor symptoms, hot flashes, impaired cognition, sleep disturbances) and psychological (e.g., mood changes) symptoms.
I’ve seen the benefits of meditation for my own menopausal symptom first-hand. This is why I’m excited to share this ancient practice with you through the Mindful Meditation Project.
What is Meditation?
Mindfulness-based Meditation refers to a practice in which one’s mental state is focused on the “now” and acknowledges and accepts one’s thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgement.
